Norwegian trumpet player and vocalist Arve Henriksen is for some years now, one of my all-time favorite musicians. As following David Sylvian, it made the occasion to hear Arve for the first time on “Cartigraphy” (2008) Arve’s debut release for ECM records, with contributions from Jan Bang, Erik Honoré and David Sylvian. An astoundingly beautiful recording. Since than, Henriksen’s unique trumpet sound and vocal performances made a huge impression to me and still does.
