Review: concert and EP from Tristan

Last thursday evening I went to the concert of Tamino in the AB in Brussels.
After being stuck, in a traffic jam for two hours, I arrived at the concert hall.
Despite the fact that I was late, I was still able to experience a few songs from Tamino’s support act: TRISTAN.
A young female singer who delivered all the performances with keyboards and loops.
It was the Belgian Isolde Van den Bulcke who uses the name TRISTAN to release her musical solo project to the world. I must confess that she was completely unknown to me. How happy I am, that after that concert in the AB, she is no longer an unknown artist to me.
What a voice, what a presence, such beautiful music that is out of the ordinary.

To me, her voice reminds me a bit of Elisabeth Frazer and of the Norwegian jazz singer Beady Belle. Especially the music reminds me of Belle’s music.
Isolde is only 22 years old, but what a mature, soulful, solid presence and style.
I’m really impressed. I had the chance to meet her shortly after the concert.
She’s very ‘down to earth’ and modest.

I am sure we will hear a lot of good things from her in the future.
For me, she’s the revelation of 2018
